Professor Susan Thorp
Susan Thorp researches life cycle finance, particularly individual financial decision making, and financial market integration. She works in cross-disciplinary teams, often using experimental and survey methods. Professor Thorp has published over thirty academic papers in leading finance journals including the Review of Finance and the Journal of Banking and Finance. She is also a regular contributor to pension policy discussions and is a member of the OECD/INFE Research Committee.
Professor Thorp gained her BEc (Hons) from the University of Sydney, and her PhD from the University of New South Wales. Before joining the University of Sydney, she held positions as Professor of Finance and Superannuation at the University of Technology Sydney, and the Reserve Bank of Australia.
Peter Jamieson
Peter Jamieson is Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation’s Chief Customer Officer. Peter joined CSC in January 2019, following two years at Holden and over thirty years at Telstra. At CSC he is helping the organisation transform into one which puts customers at the centre of their thinking. As Chief Customer Officer, Peter is responsible for service and support of Australian Government and Defence force employees and employers, for all their superannuation needs, including financial advice and education.
At Telstra Peter was Executive Director of Customer Advocacy, overseeing development and implementation of a company-wide strategies to improve customer service, customer advocacy, retention and sales. Peter was also responsible for Telstra’s global contact centre strategy and operations, where he led the implementation of various company-wide customer service and efficiency improvement initiatives.
Matthew Beardmore
Executive Program Lead - Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation
Matt is a senior leader within Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation (CSC) and has carriage of fostering, building and supporting ongoing innovation and customer centred design initiatives. With over 18 Years of Financial Services experience across Product Development & Management, Program Management, Customer and Digital Experience, Matt appreciates the delicate balance of customer experience needs, corporate objectives and the broader regulatory regimes of superannuation.
Prior to CSC, Matt was at BT Investment Management (now Pendal) responsible for product management within wholesale and institutional managed funds.
Harry Chemay
Harry has more than two decades of experience across both wealth management and institutional asset consulting. His experience spans High Net Worth wealth management/advisory and institutional asset consulting, including on the design of innovative post-retirement income solutions. An active participant within the wealth and superannuation space, Harry is a regular contributor to investment websites in Australia and overseas, writing on matters relating to retirement and financial planning. He has also been appointed an Australian ambassador to the Transparency Task Force, a UK-led global initiative to bring greater transparency and accountability to financial services.
